The Thread That Binds Exhibition opened June 3, 2011 to an ethusiastic crowd at the Southern Methodist University DeGolyer Library. Richard Martin III – director of DeGolyer Library, Catherine Burkhard – Lone Star Chapter President and Jane Elder – Exhibition Co-Chairwoman made introductory statements. Pamela Leutz opened the exhibit by giving a talk about the impact bookbinding has had on her life leading to the authoring of a book about bookbinders who have chosen book arts as their vocation.
