The U.S. Dept. of Treasury’s Bureau of Engraving and Printing has only two branches in the entire country, one in Washington DC and the other just north of Fort Worth, TX. (website) This gives Texans in particular a unique opportunity to experience the process, the art, and the history of America’s paper currency.
Members of the Lone Star Chapter of the Guild of Bookworkers will be meeting at the Bureau’s Western Currency Facility for a group field trip on Friday Nov. 18th at 10:30am and we invite you to join us.
The Bureau of Engraving and Printing is located at:
9000 Blue Mound Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76131 MAP
We will view the galleries, exhibits, and production floor followed by lunch nearby. We hope to see you there.
